Parent Verification and Consent
A separate adult check and an informed decision for each product.
Some IO PATINA products may ask a parent or legal guardian to review how a child’s personal information will be handled and decide whether to give consent. Where the feature is available, IO PATINA Account helps connect that request to the appropriate adult and record the decision.
How the process works
- Receive a request. The parent receives an invitation or finds the pending request in the Account experience when that capability is available. The request identifies the relevant product and provides its applicable privacy information.
- Review the product-specific notice. Read what the product intends to collect from the child, why, with whom it may share information and what choices are available. An Account-wide privacy notice does not replace these details.
- Choose whether to consent. A successful adult check does not equal consent. The parent separately accepts or declines the precise product-specific choices shown. Depending on the product, more than one choice may be presented.
- Verify adult status where required. An available check may use Epic Kids Web Services (KWS). On the provider's page, the parent selects from the methods the provider offers for that country and configuration. KWS may present a card-based or identity-based option, even if the route chosen in Account has a different short label.
- Review or change later. Available Account controls or our privacy contact can help parents enquire about recorded decisions, request review/deletion where applicable or revoke consent for further collection or use.
What information does the verification provider see?
For a KWS request, Account may supply the parent’s email address, request country, language and an opaque request reference. KWS can send a verification email and collect the data needed for the method chosen on its own secure pages. Do not send identity documents, card numbers, SSNs or biometric images to an IO PATINA email address or general support form. Enter any information required by the provider only on the provider's page after reading its privacy notice.
Account receives the provider's transaction reference and verification outcome and links that result to the request. Account does not receive the underlying identity-document images, full card details, SSN or face scan from the KWS verification result. The provider has its own notice for information supplied directly to it.
Does verification allow my child to use every IO PATINA product?
No. Parent verification does not by itself create a child account, make a product available in a country, or authorize data collection for other products. Eligibility and permissions are specific to the request, applicable law and product policy.
Can I decline, withdraw consent or ask for my child’s information to be removed?
You may decline an offered consent request. You may also contact privacy@iopatina.com to enquire about an existing decision or request appropriate access, deletion or withdrawal of consent. We may need to establish that you are the relevant parent or authorized guardian. Withdrawal can stop future activity governed by the consent; separate record-retention duties and product-specific processing rules may still apply.
